Muriel's Mainichi Cooking presented by Hawaiʻi Gas is a new JCCH video series inspired by Muriel Miura's mainichi まいにち (everyday) recipes from the JCCH archives that were generously provided by her daughter, Shari Ling. Widely recognized as the face of The Gas Company (now known as Hawaiʻi Gas), Muriel gained popularity through classes, demonstrations, conferences, cooking shows, pamphlets, and cookbooks.
Ingredients (8)
2 7-ounce cooked Portuguese sausages, chopped
2 cups chopped onion
2 cups chopped celery
2 tablespoons minced parsley
1/4 cup tomato sauce
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon MSG (monosodium glutamate)
7 cups crumbled corn bread (1 8-inch)

Saute Portuguese sausage over medium flame 2-3 minutes or until lightly browned.
Add onion, celery, and parsley, and saute 3-4 minutes longer.
Add tomato sauce and seasonings.
Turn off flame.
Add corn bread and mix well.
Yield: About 9 cups stuffing, sufficient for a 10 to 12-pound turkey.
BLUE FLAME NOTE: Allow 3/4 cup of stuffing per pound of frozen ready-to-cook turkey.
