Muriel's Mainichi Cooking presented by Hawaiʻi Gas is a new JCCH video series inspired by Muriel Miura's mainichi まいにち (everyday) recipes from the JCCH archives that were generously provided by her daughter, Shari Ling. Widely recognized as the face of The Gas Company (now known as Hawaiʻi Gas), Muriel gained popularity through classes, demonstrations, conferences, cooking shows, pamphlets, and cookbooks.


Ingredients (9)

Crumb Crust:

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1/4 cup sugar

1 cup graham cracker crumbs

Filling:

1 8-ounce package cream cheese

1 cup whipping cream

3/4 cup powdered sugar

Topping:

1 6-ounce can frozen guava juice concentrate

2 teaspoons cornstarch

1/4 cup water

Combine crumb crust ingredients in 9-inch pie pan. Press evenly against sides and bottom of pan. Chill.

Add sugar to whipping cream, whip until stiff. Whip cream cheese until soft and fluffy. Fold whipped cream into cream cheese. Spoon into crumb crust. Chill 2-3 hours in GAS refrigerator.

Bring guava concentrate to a boil. Combine water and cornstarch and stir into guava juice. Simmer until thick and clear. Cool. Spread over top of pie before serving. Yield: 8-10 servings.
